San Antonio Spurs at Miami Heat: Game Thread and Reactions

February 9th, 2016 by Matt Jennings Leave a reply »

The San Antonio Spurs came into Miami on Tuesday night and simply overwhelmed the Heat.

The Heat had a lead for much of the first half. The Spurs took the lead late in the second quarter, however, and never gave it up again as they cruised to a 119-101 victory.

LaMarcus Aldridge had 28 points (10-16 FG) to continue his strong play of late. He has scored 20 in five of his last seven games. Kawhi Leonard scored 23 with 9 rebounds. Those two helped San Antonio overwhelm Miami in the second half.

The frustration boiled over in the fourth quarter for Hassan Whiteside, who elbowed Boban Marjanovic and was ejected from the game. Dwyane Wade led the Heat in scoring with 20 points (9-12 FG)

It was a solid start to an eight-game road trip for the Spurs. Meanwhile, the Heat enter the All-Star Break trying to recover from a rough last few weeks.
