Rasheed Wallace Waived by Boston, Intends to Retire

It has been confirmed by Chris Forsberg via ESPN Boston that the Boston Celtics will waive Rasheed Wallace, and that Wallace plans on retiring.

Rasheed Wallace came just one game short of winning his second NBA Title, and immediately after the game head coach Doc Rivers indicated that Rasheed might not be back.

Well, Rivers indications appeared to be correct. Rasheed Wallace will retire and retire as a four-time NBA All-Star.

Now, Wallace's departure opens up a new roster spot to be filled. Reports have been indicating that Danny Ainge is still in search of a "missing piece" to the Celtics' roster. No names have been mentioned though.
