Previewing Game 4: It’s Time For Paul Pierce To Put Up Or Shut Up

I've always had a love-hate relationship when it comes to Paul Pierce. Before I get started let me point out that I'm not a Boston Celtics fan or a Los Angeles Lakers fan. I'm actually a Miami Heat fan, but I'll save my articles about how the Heat are going to contend next season till after the Finals is over. 

What I love about Paul Pierce is his loyalty and his willingness to take and make big shots. Pierce is one of the rare players in the NBA who delivers on the big stage, even when you know he's going to that patented step-back jumper time and time again. The fact that he never gave up on the Celtics organisation and stuck around till help came is also something I admire, and Cleveland's Mr. James should take a leaf out of his book. 

With all that aside I still can't help but despise Pierce for constantly running his mouth. To have confidence is one thing, but to make outrageous claims and not be able to back them up is arrogant and foolish. At the end of the day the public and media will slaughter you if your claims are not substantiated; and most of the time Pierce's aren't.
