Phoenix Suns: Should Lindsey Hunter Be Brought Back as Coach in 2013-14?

The Phoenix Suns are just about finished with the worst season they've had since they entered the NBA during the 1968-69 season.

Blame can be scattered throughout the organization, but it's often the coach who catches the brunt of the blow.

Should Lindsey Hunter be blamed for the Suns' mess?

That 1968-69 team went 16-66, and as an expansion club, it was understandable. The 2012-13 team can finish no better than 27-55, which would be the second worst total in the team's storied history. 

One thing is for sure—the Suns are not a team loaded with talent. It wouldn't matter if Phil Jackson, Gregg Popovich or Red Auerbach coached this team. When you've got a team that ranks in the bottom third of the league in talent, no amount of coaching will turn them into contenders.

Still, there is a noticeable difference between a coach that commands the players' attention and respect. Hunter hasn't reached that point yet.

I watched intently during games against the Brooklyn Nets and Minnesota Timberwolves to see how the players responded to coach P.J. Carlesimo and Rick Adelman.
