Orlando Magic Week 17: Dwight Howard Proves to be Superman, Nelson Plays Sidekick

You know that nice kid that gets bullied one too many times, snaps, and finally beats up the bully. That kid was Dwight Howard this week and that bully was Shaquille O'Neal. Orlando got their revenge on the Cleveland Cavaliers this week to give them a 38-19 record, third best in the NBA. The Magic have won 12 of their last 16 games and look to be starting to click as a team unit. On Wednesday night, Orlando hosted the Detroit Pistons and walked away with a 116-91 win. Dwight Howard proved to be unstoppable in the game. Howard finished with 33 points, 17 rebounds, and seven blocks in a monster game. Vince carter added 20 points while Jameer Nelson chalked up 14 points and nine assists. Rip Hamilton unloaded a game high 36 points on the Magic , his highest point total of the season. Tayshaun Prince and Jonas Jerebko chipped in with 13 apeice. The Magic welcomed the Dallas Mavericks to Orlando on Friday night. The Mavs stifled the Magic with tremendous defense, holding Orlando to only 85 points in the 95-85 Dallas win. Dirk Nowitzki led all scorers with his 23 points.
