Nick Young Injury: Updates on Lakers Star’s Achilles and Return

Los Angeles Lakers swingman Nick Young suffered a right Achilles strain Tuesday against the New Orleans Pelicans, per Mark Medina of the Los Angeles Daily News.


His official playing status for Wednesday against the Chicago Bulls has yet to be announced.

Young to Undergo Additional Testing Tuesday, Nov. 29 Medina noted that Young will get an MRI in Chicago on Wednesday. According to Medina, Young was walking around the locker room after the game and Lakers head coach Luke Walton did not officially rule him out for Wednesday's matchup against the Bulls.

Young Has Emerged as Important Cog in Lakers' Rotation   If Young misses extensive time, it would be a difficult loss for the Lakers' offensive depth.

At his best, he is a high-volume wing scorer who can stretch defenses with his three-point stroke and attack the rim if opponents press up on him beyond the arc.
