The Chicago Bulls used a 31-8 advantage during the fourth quarter to destroy the New York Knicks 108-81 on Friday at the United Center.

Nikola Mirotic dished a career-best seven assists, scoring 17 points thanks to a 4-of-6 clip from three-point range. Jimmy Butler paced the Bulls with 23 points, while Pau Gasol chipped in 17.

Bobby Portis provided more evidence for why he should occupy a regular spot in the rotation, sparking Chicago after New York stormed back from a 50-33 deficit. The explosive rookie tallied 16 points and 10 rebounds off the bench.

According to Basketball-Reference, the Knicks franchise had never before scored fewer than nine points in a fourth quarter. They failed to record a field goal during the final 7:11 of the game.

Carmelo Anthony managed 20 points and seven rebounds, but New York allowed Chicago to shoot 62.5 percent from beyond the arc.
