Nemanja Nedovic Waived by Warriors: Latest Details, Comments, Reaction

A little more than a year after selecting Nemanja Nedovic with a first-round draft pick, the Golden State Warriors have cut ties with the 23-year-old Serbian point guard.   

Yahoo Sports' Marc J. Spears has the news:



When the Warriors selected Nedovic No. 30 overall in 2013, the young guard famously—or perhaps infamously at this point—was dubbed as the "European Derrick Rose," due to his blend of size and athleticism.

It's safe to say those lofty expectations were never fulfilled with the Warriors.

Nedovic played 142 minutes last season (5.9 per game in 24 appearances), shooting 20.5 percent from the field and tallying as many turnovers (13) as assists. With the Warriors' immense backcourt depth, they had no reason to continue the failed project.
