The Sacramento Kings are staying in California's capital. Can the new era include better basketball?

With new ownership and coaching also come pass-first point guard Grevis Vasquez, wing-stopper Luc Richard Mbah a Moute, scoring forward Carl Landry and sweet-shooting rookie Ben McLemore. 

Yet all of those upgrades still shine in the shadow of the Kings' same old problems: Their roster contains logjams at nearly every position, DeMarcus Cousins must still take the leadership mantle in word and deed, and the defense still needs a LOT of work.

Will the Kings figure out whether Vasquez or Isaiah Thomas is their future point guard? Will McLemore become their legit second star? How does Landry fit into the frontcourt with Cousins, Jason Thompson, Patrick Patterson and Chuck Hayes? When will Cousins maximize his limitless potential?

How will we know when their perennial rebuilding is finally paying off?
