NBA Playoff Predictions: Superstars, Subplots and Complete Postseason Picks

The NBA's two best teams in recent years (and history) are in danger entering the 2011 playoffs, and the ball may just be "slipping" out of their grasp this time around.

Boston is 5-5 in their last 10 games, 15-10 since the All-Star break and traded away the one legitimate post presence they needed alongside Kevin Garnett (Kendrick Perkins).

Now they have to hope that Jermaine O'Neal's ghost, Shaq's cadaver and Nenad Kristic's scant offensive game can somehow equal one decent player underneath for an entire postseason.

Kristic is coming off a bruised knee, Jermaine is just returning to the lineup after missing almost the entire season due to knee surgery and Shaq showed a brilliant five and a half minutes of play in his first action in nearly two months before looking like a sniper shot him in the Achilles again and put his postseason availability in question.

The Lakers, on the other hand, have lost four straight and their scorching hot start since the All-Star break has all but been forgotten in the face of their latest woes.
