NBA Player of the Week: Amar’e Stoudemire and an All-Around Strong Perfomance

This week's NBA Player of the Week is Amar'e Stoudemire of the New York Knicks.

His game this week was very impressive to watch and everything New York envisioned when they signed him was there this week.

The Knicks are starting to play really well as a team and have had some surprise players this year including the rookie sensation Landry Fields. However, this week the undeniable hero was Amar'e Stoudemire.

Here are some of his more important stats: 30 PPG, 9.6 RPG, two BPG, one SPG and 58 percent FG.

These stats are very impressive and while all around, they could be argued as not the best; he led his team to a 4-1 record over the last five games and four of the teams he faced were in the top 15 in least points allowed per contest.

Also factor in that three games were away from home and the matchups were very interesting including the game against Atlanta where he faced Josh Smith.

If this play continues then the Knicks will have a greater chance to organize a trade for either Chris Paul or maybe even Carmelo Anthony (or both?).
