The self-proclaimed Mecca of basketball certainly lived up to its billing on NBA All-Star Saturday night.

A historically stacked Three-Point Contest saw a proficient shooter put on a show for the ages. Golden State Warriors sniper Stephen Curry, the league’s fastest player to reach 1,000 career triples, thrilled the New York City crowd with 13 consecutive makes en route to his first contest win in four tries.

Curry finished with 27 points in the final round, enough to hold off splash sibling Klay Thompson and former winner Kyrie Irving.

The revamped, bracket-style Skills Challenge produced an exciting showdown between Houston’s Patrick Beverley and Milwaukee’s Brandon Knight.

Racing head-to-head for the crown, Knight built an early advantage while Beverley’s passes failed to hit their mark. But Knight left the door open by misfiring on the final three-point shot, and Beverley swiped the win.
