The Minnesota Timberwolves entered Saturday night's matchup with the Miami Heat without Ricky Rubio, and despite a late push to compensate for a poor first half effort, were unable to come away with the victory. With the 102-92 win, Miami now moves to 4-2 while the Timberwolves drop to 2-4. 

It certainly didn't start off pretty for Minnesota, who struggled to move the ball without Rubio to guide the way. They finished with just 13 assists—something that Miami nearly eclipsed in the first quarter during their early onslaught.

However, after halftime adjustments led to increased looks in the post, Minnesota soon found itself mounting a comeback. Center Nikola Pekovic finished with 19 points and 11 boards on the night—leading the way for the Wolves to dominate Miami on the glass—they won the rebounding contest 49-to-40 and dominated the offensive glass with 17. Miami had just six second chance opportunities.
