Maurice Watson Jr. Declares for 2016 NBA Draft: Latest Comments and Reaction

Creighton guard Maurice Watson Jr. told ESPN's Jeff Goodman on Wednesday that he will declare for the 2016 NBA draft but not hire an agent. 

Watson led Creighton in scoring with an average of 14.1 points per game last season as the Bluejays made the quarterfinals of the NIT. 

Watson transferred to Creighton and became one of the leaders of its offense after two seasons with Boston University from 2012-14. 

Despite his 5'10" stature, he showed that he wasn't afraid to put the ball on the floor and make the aggressive cuts needed to open up the offense. 

Watson also showed he's a dangerous scorer, recording six games with 20 points or more for the Bluejays. 



Watson was able to pair that with his facilitating skills and record three double-doubles with points and assists. Against eventual Big East champions Seton Hall on Jan. 9, Watson put up a season-high 14 helpers in the win.
