Marc Gasol Injury: Updates on Grizzlies Star’s Foot and Return

Memphis Grizzlies center Marc Gasol suffered a foot injury Monday in his team's game against the Portland Trail Blazers.

Gasol Ruled Out for Remainder of Game Monday, Feb. 8 Gasol played 11 minutes against Portland before exiting, and Grizzlies sideline reporter Rob Fischer confirmed the big man would not return with a right mid-foot injury. 

Gasol suffered a sprained ankle in an early December blowout against the Oklahoma City Thunder, but he's been relatively healthy overall since suffering an MCL sprain in 2013. 

Big Marc appeared in 81 games last season en route to his second career All-Star selection, and he hasn't slowed down much since signing a max contract to remain in Memphis for the next five years. 

Heading into Monday's game, Gasol was averaging 16.7 points, seven rebounds, 3.8 assists and 1.4 blocks a night while shooting 46.2 percent from the field.
