Philadelphia 76ers TV analyst Malik Rose is on the move.

According to Yahoo Sports' Marc J. Spears, Rose has been hired by the Atlanta Hawks as the team's new manager of basketball operations. A formal announcement is expected next week.

As USA Today's Jeff Zillgitt noted, Rose is familiar with Hawks head coach and team president Mike Budenholzer, dating back to their time together with the San Antonio Spurs.

Budenholzer served as an assistant coach with the Spurs for 18 seasons alongside Gregg Popovich, while Rose suited up for San Antonio from 1997 to 2005. Rose won two championships with the Spurs (1999 and 2003) during his tenure in Texas.

"Seeing the way R.C. Buford and the Spurs management works, it’s impressive and inspiring,” Rose said July 30, according to Spurs.com's Lorne Chan. "I’ve always had a dream of building my own championship team."
