Malcolm Thomas Sets Summer League Single-Game Rebound Record

Chicago Bulls forward Malcolm Thomas set a Summer League record on Monday night, grabbing 22 rebounds during a 93-81 win over the Denver Nuggets.

Thomas broke the record previously held by former Toronto Raptors forward Joey Dorsey, who pulled down 20 rebounds during a game back in 2009.

With his 22 boards, Thomas had more than Denver's three top rebounders, as Jordan Hamilton, Luke Harangody and Quincy Miller were able to pull down 20 all together. In fact, Thomas was only 10 away from the Nuggets' total as a team.

Of the 22, 10 of Thomas' rebounds were offensive. Plus, he added 13 points and two blocks to help the Bulls to their win.

He and Andrew Goudelock, who scored 31 points and made five of his six three-pointers, both showed off reasons to be considered for more than just a Summer League stint with the Bulls.

Thomas follows up Andre Drummond's stellar rebounding game earlier this month. Drummond set an Orlando Summer League record on July 11 with 18 during a 78-77 Detroit Pistons win over the Miami Heat.
