Luke Walton Will Not Get Credited with Warriors Wins as Interim Head Coach

Golden State Warriors interim head coach Luke Walton has led the team to an NBA record-setting 19-0 start, but the record books will not reflect that fact.  

According to NBA.com's David Aldridge, passing along a clarification from the league, Dubs head coach Steve Kerr—who continues to recover from offseason back surgery—will receive credit for any wins and losses incurred during his absence.

The revelation comes on the heels of a report the NBA was considering revising its policy and awarding the wins to Walton, per Benjamin Hoffman of the New York Times.

While that ultimately won't happen, one person who believes Walton is deserving of having the wins added to his record is Kerr, according to ESPN.com's Ethan Sherwood Strauss:

I think it's ridiculous. I'm sitting in the locker room and watching the games on TV, and I'm not even traveling to most of the road games. Luke's doing all the work with the rest of the staff. Luke is 15-0 right now. I'm not. So it's the dumbest thing I've ever heard, to be honest with you. I don't even understand it.
