Look, Phil Jackson: You’ve Done Enough

June 27th, 2010 by Brett Roberts Leave a reply »
Phil Jackson, you have already established yourself as one of the two best coaches ever, and already has won more championships than anyone else, including Auerbach, with 11 total championships.  Not only that, but you also won two more as a player.  It's easy to walk out now, on top, than continue to struggle on in your health as you age and work yourself to death when you should be reclining and drinking frozen margaritas, while you read Lao Tsu's Art of War.

We've seen enough of you, Phil, to be ready to enshrine you as the greatest NBA coach ever, so enjoy the rest of your life and retire.  You simply have nothing left to prove to us, and we salute you for being the man to nurture both Michael Jordan and Kobe Bryant, two of the greatest players ever.  Who knows if they ever would have reached their level of production without your mind coaching them?

Walk quietly into the sunset and remain a legend.  You deserve it.
