LeBron James Claims NBPA Is ‘Not in a Good Place’

LeBron James is not happy with the state of the National Basketball Players Association and is reportedly ready to do something about it. 

Brian Windhorst of ESPN reports that the Miami Heat superstar sounded off about the players union in an interview, saying, "I just think the union is going backwards and it's not in a good place right now."

But he's not content to just criticize; he's considering running for the union's recently vacated presidency, telling Windhorst that he believes his voice could be huge for the players going forward. 

The NBPA has received its fair share of criticism from its members since the NBA's 2011 lockout under the leadership of former executive director Billy King. He was fired and subsequently filed a lawsuit against former NBPA president Derek Fisher. 

Fisher, whose term as president ended this summer, has faced his own set of issues, as he was asked to step down by the NBPA Executive Committee in a unanimous vote in April of 2012.
