Portland Trail Blazers All-Star forward LaMarcus Aldridge will miss the team's April 11 clash with the Utah Jazz due to a left foot sprain.

Aldridge Suffers Foot Injury Saturday, April 11 The Blazers' official Twitter feed has the details on Aldridge's status:



Eric Gundersen of The Columbian reported that Aldridge had an MRI yesterday and was feeling soreness so it was decided that he would rest.

Aldridge has been grinding through pain for months, having opted not to undergo surgery on a torn ligament in his left thumb. Somehow, the thumb injury hasn't hindered Aldridge, who has been a double-double machine for one of the Western Conference's top teams.

Blazers fans can only hope that this latest ailment isn't too severe and that the team is just buying him a bit of rest before the playoffs begin. For Portland to have any chance at a deep postseason run, Aldridge must be healthy enough to produce at his usual elite level.
