Kemba Walker Injury: Updates on Hornets Star’s Knee and Return

Charlotte Hornets star point guard Kemba Walker will be held out of Saturday's game against the Indiana Pacers with a knee injury.

The Hornets' official Twitter account reported the news along with the modification head coach Steve Clifford will make to the starting lineup:



Rick Bonnell of the Charlotte Observer noted Clifford believes the injury could force Walker out of the lineup beyond Saturday's game:

Walker is an offensive spark Charlotte can't easily replace, as he leads the squad with 19.2 points and 5.4 assists per contest. Given the scant firepower on the rest of the Hornets roster, the team will miss Walker's ability to create his own shot and generate chances for others off dribble penetration.

Per NBA.com, Charlotte has the eighth-slowest pace in the Association and is fifth-worst offensively with 99.2 points per 100 possessions. The dynamic Walker provides a necessary spark and is a rare fast-break threat.
