JR Smith ‘100 Percent Sure’ Knicks Win Title, Pierce’s Words ‘Have Consequences’

J.R. Smith has taken the New York Knicks-Brooklyn Nets rivalry to the next level. 

You know the one I'm talking about: the J.R. Smith level. The one that includes both bold and ominous predictions.

During a recent question-and-answer session, Smith was asked about the Knicks' chances of ending their 40-year championship drought. Naturally, he guaranteed New York would win its first title in four decades.

“I’m 100 percent sure,” he said, as quoted by the New York Post's Marc Berman.

Most players' day would be complete after that display of confidence, but Smith isn't most players. Pressed about why he joined the Knicks over the Nets in 2012, he seized the opportunity to bad-mouth Brooklyn.

“The Nets weren’t good,’’ Smith said. “Now they’re still not good.’’

If Smith wasn't standing alone after guaranteeing the Knicks would win a championship (again), he's on his own secluded island now.
