The Los Angeles Clippers gauged trade interest in forward Josh Smith last month, per Marc J. Spears of Yahoo Sports.

Clippers May Have Hard Time Trading Smith Monday, Dec. 7 Los Angeles cannot trade Smith until Dec. 15 because he signed a free-agent contract in the offseason, but it may have trouble dealing him and teammate Lance Stephenson anyway, one NBA executive told Spears: "There is not much of a market for them. They are buyout candidates."

Another front-office executive told Spears the reason a trade could be difficult has to do with the fact Smith has had trouble fitting in with his new team: "They [Smith and Stephenson] are talented, but when you add people like that it does affect the chemistry of their team. I don't think they will be traded. It's a tough thing to do because they didn't have a lot of takers beforehand."

The Orange County Register's Dan Woike reported on Nov. 22 that Smith got into a shouting match with an unspecified Clippers coach following a loss.
