Jabari Brown to Lakers: Latest Contract Details, Comments and Reaction

It has been a tumultuous season for the Los Angeles Lakers backcourt, but the team added some depth Tuesday in the form of Jabari Brown.

NBA.com reported that general manager Mitch Kupchak announced Brown was joining the team via a 10-day contract.

The Lakers already lost Steve Nash, Kobe Bryant and Ronnie Price for the season out of the backcourt due to injuries, and Nick Young is dealing with a knee problem of his own. Sure, the playoffs aren’t in the cards this season, but the team still has to fill out a lineup card with someone coming off the bench.

Brown actually played with fellow Laker Jordan Clarkson in college at Missouri and averaged an impressive 19.9 points and 4.4 rebounds a game in 2013-14 as a Tiger. Perhaps he can add some scoring punch to Los Angeles, especially since he already scored 50 points on Jan. 10 and 48 points on Feb. 28 as a member of the Los Angeles D-Fenders in the NBA Development League.

On the season, Brown averaged 24.4 points a game in the D-League and earned an All-Star nod.

With no postseason to play for, the Lakers may as well see what they have in the young rookie.
