So much for the super-team that couldn't be beat.
Just don't tell the Boston Celtics the new-look Heat can't be beat.
Either the Celtics didn't get the memo, or Tuesday night's season-opening thumping of the Heat just nails down the fact that the team DID get the memo.
I'm voting for the latter.
The big three had a disastrous debut—and despite trying to bounce back from a shaky start—the Miami trio and their teammates fell 88-80 to begin the 2010 campaign at 0-1.
Outside of LeBron James netting 31 points, both Dwyane Wade (13 PTS) and Chris Bosh (8 PTS) had off-nights.
And this was supposed to be the new dream team.
Regardless of the poor start, it's a very long NBA season—as any die-hard sports fan knows.
And it's also not about how you start, but how you finish.
However, Miami's loss on Tuesday night at least proves one thing many experts were questioning before the season began.
The Heat can absolutely be beat.
