Hassan Whiteside has been a revelation for the Miami Heat this season, but he suffered a physical setback Tuesday and may have to miss some time.

Whiteside Leaves Tuesday's Game Tuesday, March 24 The Heat’s official Twitter account reported that "Hassan Whiteside sustained a laceration between his middle & ring fingers. He received 10 stitches & will not return tonight." The injury occurred during a game against the Milwaukee Bucks.

After the game, Whiteside said, “I can’t feel my hand at all right now. We’ll see how it feels tomorrow and go day-to-day.”

Whiteside was averaging 11.2 points, 9.8 rebounds and 2.5 blocks per game this season entering play Tuesday and has helped keep the Heat in the Eastern Conference playoff picture even though LeBron James left for the Cleveland Cavaliers in the offseason, and Chris Bosh went down with a season-ending injury.

This has been by far the best year of Whiteside's career thus far, and he is one of the most important players on the roster at this point. Miami is going to need him healthy come playoff time if it hopes ...
