Stephen Curry dropped 40 points in a 23-point comeback for the Golden State Warriors, who beat the Los Angeles Clippers, 124-117, Thursday at the Staples Center.

Curry got his 40 points on just 22 shots. He also grabbed a game-high 11 rebounds (in a game that featured the league's second-leading rebounder, DeAndre Jordan).

He got a lot of help from his friends in this one. Klay Thompson scored 25 points on 12 shots. Harrison Barnes had 21. And Draymond Green went for 19 points, nine assists and six rebounds.

The Clippers were led by Chris Paul, who scored 18 of his 35 points in the first quarter. He thoroughly outplayed Curry for most of the first three quarters, but got run over down the stretch.

Blake Griffin pitched in with 27 points, six rebounds and five assists.

The Warriors are now 2-0 against the Clippers. The teams will meet again on February 20 in Los Angeles.
