Dwight Howard Hospitalized: Updates on Hawks Star’s Recovery

Atlanta Hawks center Dwight Howard has been released from the hospital following a brief stay after he reportedly suffered from a bout of dehydration.

Howard Released from Hospital Monday, Sept. 12 Chris Vivlamore of the Atlanta Journal-Constitution reported Howard was released from the hospital early Monday morning. He reportedly became ill while on a plane traveling to Atlanta and was taken in for further evaluation after landing.

No further information has been made available regarding his illness.

Howard, 30, had spent the last 10 days in China as part of a promotional tour for his new signature shoe. A popular figure in China after his stint with the Houston Rockets, he inked a deal with the company Peak in 2015.

The company unveiled a new colorway and shoe to go along with his signing with his hometown Hawks. A product of Southwest Atlanta Christian Academy, Howard signed a three-year, $70.5 million deal in Atlanta this offseason.
