Doc Rivers Comments on Blake Griffin’s Incident with Clippers Equipment Manager

Los Angeles Clippers star Blake Griffin is still dealing with the NBA's investigation into his fight with the team's assistant equipment manager, Matias Testi, but head coach Doc Rivers is trying to help his player move forward.

Per Kevin Arnovitz of ESPN.com, Rivers said prior to the Clippers' game against the Los Angeles Lakers on Friday that Griffin has remorse for what happened:

He feels awful about it, and he's let everyone know that. That's all you can do. You have to forgive people at some point. I believe that. We built Richard Nixon a library. I mean, my goodness. You forgive people. You really do. You kind of move on, and you build it back.

On Tuesday, ESPN.com's Ramona Shelburne reported the NBA was investigating an incident involving Griffin that took place in Toronto and that the league could discipline the five-time All-Star. Arnovitz's report noted Rivers said the NBA's investigation was "nearing an end."

Sam Amick of USA Today reported Griffin would likely be out four to six weeks due to the fractured right hand he suffered in the fight with Testi.
