Devin Harris Injury: Updates on Mavericks Guard’s Toe and Return

Dallas Mavericks point guard Devin Harris is expected to miss at least the first three weeks of the regular season because of a toe injury.

Latest on Harris' Playing Status Wednesday, Oct. 26 Earl K. Sneed of the team's official website passed along an update from head coach Rick Carlisle, who stated Harris is dealing with a big toe sprain in his right foot. He'll be in a walking boot for the next three weeks and will then go through an evaluation.

The setback is particularly notable because Harris missed games last season while dealing with a lingering injury to the big toe on his left foot. He underwent surgery to rectify the issue along with a procedure on his thumb in May.

"It's more precautionary than anything else, but the surgeries went well. I'm rehabbing, walking regular and just waiting to get cleared to start running and doing other stuff," Harris told Sneed in June.
