Derrick Rose Injury: Updates on Bulls Star’s Orbital Fracture and Return

The 2015 preseason hasn't even started, and Chicago Bulls point guard Derrick Rose is already hurt, as he suffered a left orbital fracture in Tuesday's practice. The team announced the procedure went as planned and Rose is expected to resume basketball activities two weeks after the surgery.

Surgery Complete; Official Timetable for Rose's Return to Be Determined Wednesday, Sept. 30 Bulls head coach Fred Hoiberg said, per ESPN Chicago's Nick Friedell, Rose's surgery went as expected, but there's no timetable set for his return. Friedell added there was nothing structurally wrong after Rose's surgery, and he doesn't expect him to be limited when he returns to the floor.

Hoiberg hopes Rose will be ready for opening night, per Sean Highkin of Bleacher Report. Bleacher Report's Kevin Ding added to the sentiment that Rose could return for opening night, adding that he's in "great spirits."
