Dirk Nowitzki and the Dallas Mavericks beat the Los Angeles Clippers, 107-96, on Friday.

But that wasn't the lasting image for Nowitzki.

No, what Nowitzki probably can't get out of his head is getting absolutely posterized by Clippers center DeAndre Jordan on an alley-oop from point guard Mo Williams.

On the play, Williams, running ahead of Nowitzki, passes up the layup, instead flipping the ball back for Jordan, who hammered it home on Nowitzki's head.

The fact that the star Mavs forward still posted 20 points, eight rebounds and seven assists shows how focused he really is, because most people that get embarrassed like that are never the same again.

Jordan has proven how athletic he is this year, averaging 7.0 rebounds and 1.8 blocks while averaging a career-high 25 minutes for the Clippers.

It's plays like what transpired on Friday that make the Clippers an exciting team, if not a winning one.

With Jordan and Blake Griffin down low, there's no wonder why the team is being expected to be better next year.

They have talented youth that should only improve down the line.
