Dallas 107, New York 87—Final

The Dallas Mavericks buried their first six shots and never trailed the New York Knicks during a 107-87 victory at Madison Square Garden.

Monta Ellis managed 14 points, six assists and three steals for Dallas (18-8), who shot 15-for-33 from beyond the arc. The Mavericks bench—which nailed nine triples—outscored New York's reserves 50-28.

Dirk Nowitzki chipped in 15 points, five rebounds and five assists against a severely outmatched the Knicks frontcourt. Tyson Chandler registered eight points and 14 rebounds in 25 minutes of action.

The Knicks (5-22) fell behind by 19 points during the opening quarter before putting together a 17-2 run, but New York couldn't quite overcome Dallas' strong offense. Carmelo Anthony netted a game-high 26 points, adding five boards, five assists and four steals.

Derek Fisher's team missed 16 of its 21 three-point attempts, including a 1-for-13 combined mark from starting guards Jose Calderon and Tim Hardaway Jr.
