D.J. Stephens Shows Off Insane Hops During NBA D-League Dunk Contest

February 17th, 2016 by Kyle Newport Leave a reply »

D.J. Stephens wowed everyone with his vertical leap at the 2013 NBA Draft Combine, and Saturday's D-League dunk contest served as a reminder of his insane hops.

From his warm-ups to his contest dunks, Stephens put on quite a show.

The 6'5" Canton Charge forward showed just how high he could get off the ground by jumping and slapping the backboard. While he didn't reach the very top of the backboard, he came mighty close.

ESPN's Chad Ford reported back in 2013 that Stephens registered a combine-record 46-inch vertical jump. Those crazy hops were on display all night during the contest.

Believe it or not, Stephens did not actually win the contest. Raptors 905 guard John Jordan (5'10") took home the trophy thanks to some crazy dunks of his own.
