After receiving clearance to go home following leukemia treatment, sideline reporter Craig Sager will return to work on the NBA's opening night as part of TNT's broadcast of the New Orleans Pelicans vs. Golden State Warriors on Tuesday, October 27.

Turner Sports made the 64-year-old veteran's return official in a press release Friday.

Sager's son, Craig Sager Jr., filled in for his father on TNT at times while he was receiving treatment. The younger Sager also announced some great news regarding his dad's status last week:

Sager resumed his duties as a reporter in March after 11 months away for leukemia treatment. The cancer returned later that month, however, which forced him to take another sabbatical.

A 43-year veteran of sports broadcasting, Sager has long been a recognizable figure on NBA sidelines due to his colorful and interestingly patterned suits.

Sager is as big a part of Turner Sports' NBA broadcasts as anyone, and there is no question that his familiar wardrobe will be a welcome sight for basketball fans during the 2015-16 campaign.
