Cleveland Cavaliers Are Starting to Thrive Under New Coach Tyronn Lue

CLEVELAND — When the Cleveland Cavaliers fired head coach David Blatt on Jan. 22, negative reaction spread like wildfire among his colleagues league-wide.

Now less than two weeks later, few can argue with the results.

New coach Tyronn Lue has seemingly transformed the Cavs in just five short games, emphasizing ball movement, improved pace and a desire to have fun once again. The early results have been promising, as Cleveland has won four in a row, including a 117-103 beatdown of the San Antonio Spurs on Jan. 30.

Firing Blatt after just a year-and-a-half on the job, months removed from an NBA Finals appearance and while owning the Eastern Conference's best record may have seemed asinine at the time, but it has now jump-started the Cavaliers to join the NBA's elite.
