Chase Budinger Reportedly Reaches Agreement on New Deal with Timberwolves

Limited by a lateral tear in his meniscus, Chase Budinger's debut season with the Minnesota Timberwolves never got off the ground.

After missing just 20 games total in his first three years in the league as a member of the Houston Rockets, Budinger missed all but 23 in 2012-13.

The career 35.8 percent long-range marksman struggled mightily to find his shooting stroke on the rare nights that he was healthy enough to take the floor. His 41.4 field-goal percentage and 32.1 percent mark from deep were each career lows.

According to Adrian Wojnarowski of Yahoo! Sports, Budinger now has the chance to reintroduce himself to Timberwolves fans:



Wojnarowski adds that the third year of Budinger's new deal will be a player option.

Minnesota shot just 30.5 percent from three as a team last season, so upgrading its perimeter attack was a priority for this summer. Before his injury-riddled campaign last year, Budinger was fresh off a career-best 40.2 percent three-point shooting season in 2011-12.
