Young star Bradley Beal has yet to sign a contract extension with the Washington Wizards, though the team is keen to keep the young guard in Washington for the foreseeable future.

Wizards Reportedly Have Offered Beal a Contract ExtensionMonday, Sept. 28Jorge Castillo of the Washington Post reported Monday that Beal "will almost certainly sign a long-term contract with the Washington Wizards by next summer, though he likely won’t sign a four-year extension by the Halloween deadline," according to a source with knowledge of the situation. 

Beal reportedly wants a max salary, which the Wizards have yet to offer him, as they desire to have "maximum salary-cap flexibility for free agents in July."

That flexibility would allow the team to potentially sign Washington, D.C., native Kevin Durant, who is set to hit free agency after this season.

When asked if he had been offered a contract extension by the team, however, Beal took a long pause before saying, "No," according to Todd Dybas of the Washington Times.
