Beno Udrih Injury: Updates on Heat PG’s Recovery from Foot Surgery

Miami Heat guard Beno Udrih suffered a torn plantar plate in his right foot during a game against the Indiana Pacers on Monday. The injury will require season-ending surgery.

Heat Confirm Udrih Is Lost for Season Wednesday, Feb. 24 The Heat announced Udrih will undergo surgery and will need three months to recover. Shams Charania of The Vertical first reported on the procedure on Tuesday.

Miami's Frontcourt Loses Another Guard From soreness to surgery, it's another big hit for Miami's frontcourt, as Udrih is the second point guard the team has lost for a considerable amount of time. Tyler Johnson suffered a shoulder injury that is "likely" to hold him out for over two months, per Charania. 

Udrih came over from the Memphis Grizzlies this season in the Mario Chalmers trade and served as Goran Dragic's backup. The 33-year-old averaged 4.4 points and 2.5 assists in 16.3 minutes per night over 36 games in Miami.
