Ben Simmons Injury: Updates on 76ers Forward’s Foot and Recovery

Philadelphia 76ers rookie forward Ben Simmons left practice on Friday after suffering a fracture in his foot, which will likely require surgery. He is expected to miss about three months.

Unknown if Simmons Will Undergo Surgery Sunday, Oct. 2 "Nothing has been determined as of yet about surgery or a timeline," said 76ers president of basketball operations and general manager Bryan Colangelo on Sunday, according to Tom Moore of Calkins Media. However, Colangelo noted that the team is getting close to a final determination and that Simmons will likely require surgery, according to Moore.

ESPN.com's Marc Stein reported Saturday that Simmons is scheduled to undergo surgery next week on what team doctors believe is an acute injury.

Latest on Simmons' Timetable to Return Saturday, Oct. 1 According to Jeff Goodman of ESPN (via Stein), Simmons is expected to be out for around three months.
