Andrew Wiggins’ Older Brother Nick Signed by Timberwolves

The Minnesota Timberwolves are hoping lighting strikes twice in the Wiggins family, signing Nick Wiggins to play alongside his brother Andrew.   

Per Marc J. Spears of Yahoo Sports, the Timberwolves announced Wiggins' signing on Friday. Eric Pincus of BasketballInsiders.com reported the deal is a non-guaranteed summer contract. 

The 24-year-old played with the Idaho Stampede of the NBA Development League before playing with the Utah Jazz and Minnesota during the summer league. He played two college seasons at Wichita State, including being part of the Shockers' Final Four run in 2013. 

Wiggins' first run in professional basketball came with the Sacramento Kings' summer league team in 2014. He signed a contract to play with Tigers Tubingen of Germany's Basketball Bundesliga, but he left the team in December 2014. 

In three appearances with the Timberwolves this summer, Wiggins averaged four points in 11 minutes per game. He's got size at 6'6" to be a 2-guard, but he is facing an uphill climb to make the roster as a non-guaranteed player.
