Andrea Bargnani Injury: Updates on Nets Center’s Hamstring and Return

Andrea Bargnani has played in fewer than 42 games for each of the last four seasons, and the Brooklyn Nets center could be hobbled by injury once again after he exited Sunday's game against the Detroit Pistons.

Bargnani Slowed by Troublesome HamstringSunday, Nov. 29According to Tim Bontemps of the Washington Post, a left hamstring injury ended Bargnani's night, and it's the same hamstring that hobbled him in preseason.

Given the 30-year-old's extensive injury history, the Nets had to expect Bargnani to miss at least a few games this year, and that's if everything breaks right for the former No. 1 overall draft pick. Between 2011 and 2015, Bargnani missed an average of nearly 44 games a year.

The Nets are one of the worst teams in the Eastern Conference, and the only thing keeping them out of last place are the even more hapless Philadelphia 76ers.

Bargnani's injury is concerning if only for the fact Brooklyn doesn't have another recognized center on the roster beyond Brook Lopez, who has dealt with plenty of injuries himself.
