Andre Iguodala Trade Rumors: What Sixers Have To Gain By Keeping Iguodala

If you have been paying even the slightest bit of attention to Sixers basketball since the start, you have undoubtedly heard numerous callings for the trade of the Sixers' franchise player, Andre Iguodala.

Reasons have included his failure to emerge as a legitimate No. 1, his inability to come up big when the game is on the line, his overall inconsistency and his inability to coexist with Sixers' rookie Evan Turner.

All of these reasons are clearly valid and make a ton of sense. The Sixers' highest paid player is Iguodala and his numbers have yet to meet his hefty salary. With or without him, the Sixers are not contenders.

So it begs the question, why not deal him? Why not move Iguodala to free up cap space, perhaps get some younger talent or draft picks and allow Evan Turner to blossom?

Although all of these things could happen, you have to weigh in the possibility of keeping Iguodala and what benefits that would bring. First of all, he has been playing much better basketball as of late. Some point to the fact that he doesn't drop 20 points on a consistent basis like many of his peers in terms of salary, but that is not his game.
