Aaron Brooks Injury: Updates on Bulls Guard’s Hamstring and Return

Chicago Bulls guard Aaron Brooks left Wednesday's 103-97 win over the Phoenix Suns and did not return after suffering a left hamstring strain.

Brooks Leaves vs. Suns, Has Hamstring Injury Thursday, Nov. 19 Paul Coro of AZ Central reported the news. Brooks, 30, left with 4:15 remaining in the fourth quarter and was replaced by Kirk Hinrich. The backup point guard scored 12 points and dished five assists before exiting, as the Bulls were playing without Derrick Rose, who sat out with an ankle injury.

Hinrich came in and finished out a stellar game with 14 points and six assists. The combo of Hinrich and Brooks in many ways eclipsed any Rose performance this season, though they're both lacking on the defensive end.

Brooks will likely undergo further testing before a formal update is given on his status. The Bulls are already scarily thin in their backcourt, so any prolonged absence will hurt. Hinrich was playing in just his fourth game of the season Wednesday night and Rose is perpetually injured.
