The AGORA site provides access to over
500 journals from major scientific publishers in the fields
of food, agriculture, environmental science and related social
sciences. AGORA is available to students and researchers in
qualifying not-for-profit institutions in eligible developing
countries.
ICRISAT
Online Database
The International Crops Research Institute for the Semi-Arid
Tropics (ICRISAT) has developed a database containing 50,000
records on crops and resources of interest to farmers in semi-arid
tropical areas.
ICT Update - ICT in Agriculture
ICT Update is a bimonthly printed bulletin, a web magazine, and an accompanying email newsletter.
Each issue of ICT Update focuses on a specific theme relevant to ICTs for agricultural and rural development
in African, Caribbean and Pacific (ACP) countries, and features four commissioned articles.
ISNAR Knowledge Base on ICTs
This knowledge base includes a searchable database on the use of new ICTs
for agricultural research and development, and provides a forum to enable
development of new agricultural tools and techniques that employ ICTs.
Jal-Chitra
Jal-Chitra is software developed by the Ajit Foundation to
help rural communities meet their water needs in a sustainable
and reliable manner. Utilizing data on past rainfall, the
software employs modern methods of mathematical modeling and
computer simulation to better maintain the limited water resources
of arid and semi-arid regions of the world.
PestNet
PestNet is an email network that helps people in the Pacific and South East Asia
obtain rapid advice and information on plant protection, including the identification
and management of plant pests.
Rice
Knowledge Bank
The Rice Knowledge Bank is a product of the International
Rice Research Institute, a nonprofit agricultural research
and training center established to improve the well-being
of present and future generations of rice farmers and consumers,
particularly those with low incomes. The site includes field
diagnosis, practices, market prices, fact sheets, reference
materials, a discussion area, and e-learning courses.
TropRice
A project of the International Rice Research Institute (IRRI),
TropRice is a portal geared towards rice farmers that provides
information on everything from pest control to irrigation.
Serving as a decision support system, it helps producers make
more informed choices about rice production. |
