1. Is Your Project Included?
Since the Clearinghouse launched in late 2001, we've seen
it more than double in size. During that time, we've channeled
publicity, funding and other resources (like opportunities
for free Web sites or pro bono consulting) to projects that
need it. Interest remains strong, and our community grows
larger every day as individuals from businesses, foundations,
governments and NGOs register with us and use our database
as a powerful research tool.
Do you have a project that should be included in the Clearinghouse?
What are you waiting for? Registration is free, and submitting
a capsule is easy. To submit your project today, click

2. New From the Digital Dividend
Clearinghouse: Intel-NAB Technology Training Lab and KeralCraft.com
(India)
Five new projects have been added to the Clearinghouse since
our last Digest. This week, we highlight two projects, both
from India…
The Intel-NAB Technology Training Lab
is a result of a partnership between Intel Corporation's Community
Development Program and the National Association for the Blind
(NAB). Through this partnership, Intel is providing a technology
platform for NAB to develop innovative tools for the visually
impaired. Learn

KeralCraft.com is a project undertaken
for the development of the traditional industries of Kerala.
Central to the project is the e-commerce portal KeralCraft.com,
which aims to create a sustainable international market for
products made by local artisans. Learn

3. Idea Spotlight: Low-cost
Vaccinations for the Rural Poor
How can low-cost vaccinations be taken to the rural poor profitably
in India? One proposal, by Eswar Ramalingam, suggests using
the infrastructure of local milk cooperatives combined with
the power of smart-card enabled handheld PDAs to distribute
and collect payments for the vaccines. What do you think?

Do you have an interesting idea on how information and communication
technologies can be used to profitably take services to the
rural poor? Why not share it with the Clearinghouse community?
