Allen L. Hammond, Vice President for Innovation/WRI
and Director/Digital Dividends / Development Through Enterprise
Dr. Hammond is responsible for developing WRI's capacity for
strategic foresight and helping define new ideas and projects
across the Institute, as well as providing vision and direction
for Digital Dividends. He has published extensively on long-term
sustainability issues. Dr. Hammond holds degrees from Stanford
University and Harvard University.
Bill Kramer, Deputy Director
Bill is the president of The Knowledge Initiative (TKI), a
non-profit organization concerned with issues of knowledge
and economic development. Through TKI, he spent several years
working in Southern Africa and Central Europe to establish
state-of-the-art knowledge resource centers. He has also consulted
with the Center for Global Development, Winrock International,
and a number of major foundations, and spent more than 30
years in the business world.
John Paul, Research Analyst
John is a Research Analyst for the Digital Dividends / Development Through Enterprise program, and a developer and moderator of Nextbillion.net.
He has written extensively
on private sector strategies for poverty alleviation, and also consults for USAID's
Last Mile Initiative. John has also spent a year living in India working for n-Logue Communications,
an IIT-incubated business that is setting up wirelessly connected franchised Internet kiosks throughout the country.
Rob Katz, Research
Analyst
Rob researches private sector approaches to development as part of the Digital Dividends / Development through Enterprise project and the
Sustainable Growth in Emerging Economies objective at WRI. Currently, he is working to document the overlap between
developmental needs and corresponding market opportunities in low-income countries. He also moderates the
NextBillion.net online community and edits the What Works case study
series.
