With the No. 1 spot in the East locked up, the Miami Heat are clearly playing it extremely cautious with Dwyane Wade and his right ankle injury.
According to the Heat's official Twitter account, the superstar shooting guard will miss Saturday's contest against the Philadelphia 76ers:
While this marks the fourth straight game and sixth of the last eight on the sideline for Wade, it's hardly time to start worrying if you're a Heat fan.
He has done this before.
Last season, Wade missed eight games in April before the Heat made their run to an NBA championship. The season before, he sat out two of Miami's seven April games.
Wade is 31 years old. With minor maladies continually popping up throughout the season and nothing left to play for, there's no reason not to give him extra rest down the stretch.
Considering the electric guard is averaging 21.3 points (on a career-high 52.1 percent shooting), 5.0 rebounds, 5.0 assists and 1.9 steals on this season, making sure he is completely healthy for another potential title run makes plenty of sense.
